About The Places & Their Highlights.

NEW DLEHI : Light birding upon arrival to set the pace for ladhaki adventure.  Places which can be covered are : Sultanpur National Park : Located 37 km from New Delhi or Okhla Bird Park in NOIDA area. The park is home many resident and migratory birds. The park is open to birding from October to June every year. Reaching there takes about 60 – 90 minutes from New Delhi City Centre (depending on the city traffic)

Leh : The Capital city of Union Territory of Ladhak, is the gateway to the wonderland of Ladha. Located beyond the Himalayan Mountain, Leh has some of the stunning landcape and colourful places to see. The people are very nice and friends. Julley is a word is common used to say Hello or greetings. 

Tsokar Lake : The place is full for wildlife. The marhlands is host for incredible birdlife which include Bar-headed Geese, Ruddy Shell Duck, Grest Crested Grebe. What make this place unique is that during migration season Black Neck Cranes lay their eggs in this area. The place is also home to the elusive snow leopard. We can club Birding in Ladhak and Snow Leopard expedition if required. The best for the both is September / October. 

Birds of Ladhak –  Tibetan Snow cock, Golden Eagle, Himalayan Griffon vulture,  Lammergeyer, Snow finches, Himalayan Snow-cock Horn Lark,  Eagle Owl, Common Kestrel, Brown Dipper, White Throat Dipper,  White-Cap Redstart,  Blue Whistling Thrush,  Fire-fronted Serin, Red-billed  Chough White-winged Redstart, Robin Accentor, Brandt’s Mountain-finch, Common Rose Finch etc.

Tsokar Look out for Ruddy Shulduck, Black Neck Crane, Golden Eagle, Bearded Vulture, Himalayan Griffon, Bar headed, Tibetan Snow Cock, Tibetan Sand Grouse, Tibetan Partridge, Eagle Owl, Chukar Partridge, Solitary Scape, Wallcripper, Hill Pigeon, Hyum Ground Picker, Rock Pigeon, Yellow Bill Chough, Large Billed Crow, Raven and Snow Pigeon. 

Mammals- Tibetan Wild Ass, Tibetan Argali ( world biggest sheep), Tibetan Wolf, Tibetan Sand Fox, Lynx, Palla’s Cat,  Red Fox,  Blue sheep, Red fox,  Himalayan Marmot, Himalayan weasel, Large Ear Pika, Stone martin, Vole and Royle’spikas are some of the small mammals that are frequently seen.

Day 1 : New Delhi : Arrive in New Delhi and transfer to a hotel. Overnight in a hotel in New Delhi. 
Day 2 : Delhi – Leh : Fly to Leh:  Arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh (3500 mts/11,500 ft).Transfer to your hotel. Rest the entire day in hotel for acclimatization. In the evening we will give you briefing about birding and snow leopard details. Overnight In Hotel . 
Day 3 : Leh : The Acclimatization day, on this day, if you acclimatize and feel good, we take  world famous Thiksay monastery, and subsequently to bird-watching along the Indus , Shey marshes, around Chuchot bridge, Spituk area and do birding in Choglamsar area.  In the evening walk to Shanti stupa and/or Leh market. Overnight in Hotel
Day 4 : Leh : Bird watching around Leh and Indus valley. Overnight in Hotel
Day 5 : Leh – Tsokar. After breakfast transfer to Tsokar  Via Taglang la. Today will crossing Taglangla Pass (approximately 17000 feet) and see the nomadic life, many heard of domestic Yak, Sheep, goat etc. You will also see the spectacular colourful landscape, indus river, villages . It will take 5-6 hour. Overnight Shan camp at Tsokar.
Day 6 : Tsokar : Full three days birds watching around Tsokar. Overnight Shan camp at Tsokar.
Day 7 : Tsokar : Full Day bird watching around Tsokar. Overnight Shan camp at Tsokar.
Day 8 : Tsokar : Full Day bird watching around Tsokar. Overnight Shan camp at Tsokar.
Day 9 : Tsokar – Leh : After lunch drive back to Leh transfer to Hotel. Overnight in Hotel. 
Day 10 : Leh – New Delhi : Fly to New Delhi. Transfer to a hotel in New Delhi. Overnight in a hotel
Day 11 : New Delhi : Transfer to International Airport. TOUR ENDS
