Snow Leopard Expedition in Himachal Pradesh : Known as the Grey Ghost of the Himalayas,  sighting is like a dream come true. There main habitat Trans-Himalayan landscape in Spiti and Ladakh. Rare, elusive and revered by local, they come down to lower latitudes during winter months in search for food. The best time is from September to March end to spot them. Apart Snow Leopard,  Blue Sheep, Siberian Ibex, Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, Lammergeyer, Golden Eagle, Tibetan Snowcock roam the highland of Trans-Himalayan habitat. All possible steps are taken to provide seamless and comfortable experience in the harsh Himalayan winters. Accommodation is carefully crafted with traditional heating facilities used by locals since ancient times. Spotters chosen from local community are equipped with State of the art binoculars and guests will be provided with Spotting scopes. Our spotters are in constant communication through two way radios to maximize the chances of wildlife sighting.

About The Places & Their Highlights.

NEW DLEHI : Light birding upon arrival to set the pace for ladhaki adventure.  Places which can be covered are : Sultanpur National Park : Located 37 km from New Delhi or Okhla Bird Park in NOIDA area. The park is home many resident and migratory birds. The park is open to birding from October to June every year. Reaching there takes about 60 – 90 minutes from New Delhi City Centre (depending on the city traffic)

CHANDIGARH  : Is a beautiful city and is one very planned cities in India, is located in the Shivaliks foothills, just before the start of the mighty Himalayan mountain range. The visit to Chandigarh is mainly used as the halting point before we enter Himachal Pradesh. 

NARKHANDA : This small hilltop town has a small ski slope and a half for many venturing into the inner Himalayas. Located on atop a mountain, Narkanda give some magnificent sights to what lay ahead of us in the Lahaul and Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh. 

KALPA : Located in old Indo-Tibetian road, is situated at a height of 2750 meters in the Sutlej Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Having some of the stunning landscape, Kalpa is any photography goldmine. The place would be used for halting for the night, rest and getting used to the harsh conditions of weather. 

Kibber : Located at a height of above 4200 meters, Kibber areas is totally covered in snow during winter months. As the temperatures plummets well below the freezing point, Snow Leopard come own from the higher altitude trail the other animals. Kye Monastary is one of the most iconic place of the area.  Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, is where all the Snow Leopard action is during winter months. Not far from Kibber town, the Sanctuary is home to many snow-dwelling animals such as Ibex, Blue Sheep, Red Fox, Tibetan Woolly Hare, Himalayan Wolf, Lynx, Pika, Tibetan Wild Ass, and of course Snow Leopard.

Special Note : Due to the nature of this trip and the uncertainty of the path a snow leopard may take on any particular day, the day to day itinerary must remain flexible. The group should move according to the information of the staff and the local community informants gather on the sign of movements of the snow leopard. Weather conditions may also affect the area to be explored and also daily movement. The following itinerary remains subject to alteration in the field as information and opportunities become available. The number of trekking days will remain the same, barring weather or other unusual circumstances that require a change. One additional day is included to act as a buffer, in case adverse weather conditions.  We shall use 4×4 Vehicle  in our tours during winters. Their cold weather start-ability is superior to other vehicles and also provides good traction on Snow.

CARE All foreign nationals need to obtain Inner Line Permit from Commissioner’s Office in Recong Peo by submitting Visa & Passport photocopies in person on a working day. Our team will coordinate for the same. Citizens of China, Pakistan, Myanmar, Afghanistan are prohibited from entering the area.

Day 1 : New Delhi – Chandigarh : Arrive In New Delhi & Transfer to a hotel or an option of driving / train to Chandigarh. Overnight in a hotel Chandigarh.
Day 2 : Chandigarh – Narkanda : After breakfast, leave for Narkanda. Lunch enroute in a restaurant. Upon arrival check in a hotel / resort.
Day 3 : Narkanda – Kalpa : After breakfast, leave for Narkanda. Lunch enroute in a restaurant. Upon arrival check in a hotel. Overnight in a hotel in Kalpa
Day 4 : Kalpa – Kibber : After breakfast, leave for Kibber, Lunch upon arrival. Overnight in Kibber. Overnight in a homestay. 
Day 5 : Kibber : Search for Snow Leopard and other wildlife begins. Overnight in a homestay.
Day 6 : Kibber : Typical day would be search the slopes and valleys for the elusive Snow Leopard. Overnight in a homestay.
Day 7 : Kibber : Typical day would be search the slopes and valleys for the elusive Snow Leopard. Overnight in a homestay.
Day 8 : Kibber : Typical day would be search the slopes and valleys for the elusive Snow Leopard. Overnight in a homestay.
Day 9 : Kibber : Typical day would be search the slopes and valleys for the elusive Snow Leopard. Overnight in a homestay.
Day 10 : Kibber : Typical day would be search the slopes and valleys for the elusive Snow Leopard. Overnight in a homestay.

Day 14 :Kalpa - Chandigarh :  After breakfast, drive to Chandigarh. A long drive back to Chandigarh. Lunch enroute. Overnight in Chandigarh.
Day 15 : Chandigarh - New Delhi : Drive to New Delhi. Lunch upon arrival Overnight in New Delhi.
Day 16 : New Delhi : Spare day in New Delhi. Overnight in New Delhi.
Day 17 :New Delhi :  Transfer to New Delhi International Airport. TOUR ENDS
